A powdered mixture of dried banana with spirulina for the preparation of a thin porridge. Calcium free.
The mash from this mixture can be used as a diet replacement for algae-eating snails. This mash is a substitute for the black version of mashed banana with spirulina that you can make for snails. The advantage of the loose mixture is that you can always have it on hand, for example if the fresh banana goes bad. You can also always use only as much as you need.
Instructions. The porridge should be runny and should stir easily without sticking to the spoon. It is better to make it more runny than stiff, making sure to stir well so that all the mixture is mixed with water.
The trouble-free reception of this porridge has been tried on the following species of snails: Platymma tweediei, Hemiplecta malaouyi, Amphidromus atricallosus. It should also be accepted by Lignus solimanus.
However, the porridge can be offered to any other species of snail (except snail-eating snails) and contains 13,44 % protein. Due to its high carbohydrate content (72.84 %), it is also suitable for providing energy to snails after laying or otherwise exhausted snails.
Method of administration. For snail species that require it, spread the liquid in a thin layer, e.g. with a spoon, on the wall or lid of the hutch to form a thin film. The next day, any residues should be disposed of and the walls of the hutch cleaned if not all eaten.
Storage of the dry mixture: in a dry place and out of sunlight.
